Biography:

Robert I. Sutton is Professor of Organizational Behaviour in the Graduate School of Business, and Professor of Management Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering, Stanford University. He is the author of Weird Ideas That Work: 11 and ½ Practices for Promoting, Managing, and Sustaining Innovation (The Free Press, 2002), on which this article is based.
